Ethics

Kharazmi Journal of Earth Sciences requires that authors and reviewers of all its publications adhere to the ethical standards set up by COPE. All users (authors, reviewers, editorial board members, and the editor) are required to abide by the ethical principles outlined below. It should be noted that any plagiarism or other unethical behavior will result in the removal of the article from the review process.
Publisher's Duties and Responsibilities
    • Submission of the article to the journal is subject to approval of the legal requirements and provision of the "Letter of Commitment" from the authors.
    • Articles will be reviewed confidentially and double-blind peer-reviewed.
    • Originality, scientific quality and proof of non-plagiarism are the necessary requirements to start the review process.
    • The status of the articles (accepted, revised, or rejected) is determined based on the opinions of the reviewers, the members of the editorial board or the editor.
    • Accepted articles will be placed in the “Articles in Press” category and will be displayed online.
Reviewers' Duties and Responsibilities
    • The reviewers must maintain the principle of secrecy and confidentiality of the article information.
    • The review should be done within the specified time frame, and the reviewers' correction comments and suggestions should be sent to the editor.
    • Any cases related to plagiarism should be reported to the journal to help the editor and editorial board members make the final decision on whether to accept the article or not.
Authors' Duties and Responsibilities
    • The names of the authors should include the individuals who contributed to the writing of the article.
    • The order of authors and their affiliations should be entered in a way that does not require subsequent changes.
    • The article submitted should not have been published in any other publication, nor should it be under review for publication.
    • Any conflict of interest between authors or organizations should be disclosed.
    • The corresponding author must ensure the satisfaction of the other authors.
    • The corresponding author should complete and submit the Ethical Commitment Form on behalf of and inform all authors.
    • Authors do not have the right to cancel publication after the article has been reviewed and accepted.
    • Rejected or withdrawn articles will be removed from the archive of the journal after six months and the journal will not be responsible for them.
    • The corresponding author is responsible for announcing the contribution and role of each author.
    • The submission must be the original work of the author(s), and previous works must be properly referenced.
    • Only citations relevant to the manuscript should be used. Unnecessary and excessive self-citation to increase the number of citations of the author(s) is against the scientific ethics of publication.
    • The submitted article must be accurate and free of any falsification of data. All authors must have read the article and are responsible for the content and results presented.
