Plagiarism Policy
The plagiarism policy for the Kharazmi Journal of Earth Science (KJES) typically includes the following key points:
  • Definition of Plagiarism: Plagiarism is defined as the use of someone else's work or ideas without proper attribution. This includes copying words, ideas, or structural similarities without giving credit, presenting existing ideas as new, or failing to properly cite sources.
  • Detection Methods: All manuscripts must be free of plagiarized content. Authors are advised to use plagiarism detection software to check for similarities. The Kharazmi Journal of Earth Science (KJES) use plagiarism detection software such as Plagiarism Checker, duplichecker and Samim Noor to check for similarities in submitted manuscripts.
  • Submission and Review Process: Manuscripts undergo similarity checks before peer review. If plagiarism is detected, the manuscript may be returned to the author for revision, or it may be rejected outright.
  • Author Guidelines: Authors are required to properly cite all references and provide full bibliographic information. Quotation marks should be used for more than six consecutive words copied from a source, and permission must be obtained for using copyrighted content.
  • Action Against Plagiarism: If plagiarism is detected at any stage, appropriate actions are taken according to the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines. This may include rejection of the manuscript, notification of the author, and potential retraction of published articles if plagiarism is found post-publication.
  • Recommendations for Authors: Authors are encouraged to always properly cite references, acknowledge ideas, and ensure all sources cited in the text are listed in the bibliography.
